How It Works

Your school’s involvement in the Pearson Foundation’s Million Voice Project has three stages.

Part I. Engage

The Pearson Foundation’s Million Voice Project begins with school leaders, who register for the project and download the printer-friendly Administrator's Guidebook and the Getting Started Guide. Teachers then administer the My Voice Student Aspirations Survey to their students. Students report the conditions within their schools and reflect on their aspirations. All the while, millionvoice.org remains a resource for everyone.

Part II. Explain and Involve

After the survey has been administered, school leaders receive the Million Voice School Report and reflect on their school climate. Then, using the resources at millionvoice.org, they present results to their colleagues as a touchstone for continuous improvement.

Part III. Explore

Prominent thinkers, academics, and policymakers will launch a research and writing initiative built around the national results from the Pearson Foundation’s Million Voice Project. This new Aspirations Research Center, created in partnership with the Quaglia Institute for Student Aspirations, will publish findings starting in September 2010. All educators will be able to understand the broader context for student aspirations and join in the national conversation. For those who contributed to the data, these report findings will enrich their school reporting.
